This joint
project of the Bureau of Reclamation, the MRGCD and the Albuquerque Open
Space Division is a demonstration project of the potential for over banking.
A river bar was cleared of exotic vegetation and re-graded to the water
table to allow for periodic flooding. There is direct access to the area
from the levee trail.

Directions: East on Arenal Road to the Rio Grande
Valley State Park; then walk south in the Bosque on the prominent trail
closest to the river. Interpretive signs mark the site.
